I just bought one of these for my network at home - I use a linux based firewall so I don't need a router, only an access point. Setup was painless and I did a range test. Playing a streamed video podcast from the Internet, I walked out of my loft (brick building, thick concrete and hardwood floors) with my laptop. This laptop has B/G/N wireless.
I was able to cover the entire common hallway area of my floor and not have the video glitch once. At the very far end, on the opposite side of the elevator, I still had 3 of 5 bars and the video played fine.

I then went downstairs to the ground floor and walked out into the parking lot. I was able to continue watching until I got down to the far end of the building. That's two concrete floors and the brick exterior wall of this 1930s building that the signal was able to transverse.

I haven't yet tested the device as a repeater, but I will say as an access point, this device does what it is designed to do - provide good wireless coverage over a broad area. Signal quality and range are above average. This device represents a good value.

Cheap with POE,but password protection is poor in that you can use extraneous characters like @ .* ,etc.
