Netgear WG103

details: ProSafe 802.11g Wireless Access Point
hardware type: Wireless Access Point
date added: 2010-01-17
updated: 2015-09-17
The WG103 is an 802.11b/g wireless access point with a single 10/100Base-T LAN port. It can operate in AP, Wireless Bridge and Repeater modes. This AP integrates 802.3af Power Over Ethernet (PoE) function. It uses "Super-G" mode- a proprietary extension to the 802.11g standard, which can double the throughput to 108Mbps. Only compatible wireless stations can use this mode.

This access point can act as a DHCP client. It supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption and 802.1x authentication. It uses WMM (QoS) to prioritize the traffic over the network. Using Wi-Fi Multimedia Power Save (WMM-PS, a.k.a., Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery (u-APSD)) this device saves up to 40% of the battery life of WMM-PS devices connected to the AP.

The WG103 can be easily configured via Web-based configuration utility, including a Quick Setup Wizard or via SNMP v.1/ v.2.
