Qualcomm is reportedly preparing to ask the International Trade Commission to block iPhones from entering the country. As iPhones and iPads are all manufactured in China, Apple has to import its devices into the U.S. in order to sell them in its home country. The agency has the authority to restrict imports of goods that violate intellectual property rights. This is the latest twist in the ongoing conflict between Apple and Qualcomm. In January, Cupertino-based Apple sued Qualcomm for $1 billion, claiming that the chip maker was seeking excessively high licensing fees. San Diego-based Qualcomm filed a countersuit in April, defending its business model and claiming that Apple's lucrative iPhone business wouldn't even exist without its technology. The dispute between the two giants broke out after Apple started using modem chips from Intel in about half of new iPhones last year, instead of buying all its chips from Qualcomm. Read more -here-
